Another benefit to the health of Red Onion
Maybe we should start putting onions on our table. In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people, there is a doctor who visited many farmers to see if he could help them fight the flu. Many farmers and their families have been infected and many died. The doctor was visiting a peasant family, and a surprise, everyone was very healthy. When the doctor asked what makes them different farmer, his wife replied that she had put the red onions that have been peeled in a dish in every room in the house, (maybe only two rooms at the time).
The doctor did not believe it and asked if he could have one of the red onion to see under a microscope. Farmer’s wife gave him one and when he did this, he discovered the flu virus in the red onion. This onion is clear absorb bacteria, therefore, keeping this family stay healthy. I read an article that talked about the benefits of red onion. He said that several years ago many of the employees who came to work with the flu and so did many of its customers. The next year he put a few bowls of onions around his shop. Surprisingly, none of the staff sick. It worked.
Moral of this story, buy some red onion and place in a bowl around your house. If you work in the office, place one or two at the office or under your desk or even on a place. Try it and see what happens. We do this years ago and we never got the flu. This helps you and those you love from the sick, and all the better. If you have the flu, it just might be a mild case .. There was a PS, when I send it to a friend in Oregon who regularly contribute material to my health problems. He replied with the most interesting experience of red onion: Well done, thank you for reminding. I do not know about the story of the farmer’s … but, I knew that I was hit by pneumonia and not have to say I was very sick … I found an article that says to cut off both ends of a red onion, then put one end in a fork and then place the tip of a fork on an empty jar … put the jar next to the patient at night. It is said that the onion will become black in the morning because of the germs of course it happened just like it was a mess of red onion and I started to feel better. Another thing I read in the article was that the onion and garlic are placed around the room to save many people from the black plague years ago. Red onion and garlic has antibacterial power, antiseptic equipment. This is another record.

Red onion is a big magnet for bacteria, especially raw onion. You should never plan to keep some of the sliced onion. It is not safe even if you put it into zip-lock bag and put it in your refrigerator. Red onions contaminated enough just to cut and left open for a while, so it may harm you (and need to be more alert again on the red onion you put in your hot dog at the baseball park!) If you take the remaining onion and cook like a madman, you may be fine, but if you cut the remaining onions and put on your sandwich, you’re looking for trouble. Both onions and potatoes in potato salad wet, will attract and grow bacteria even faster than commercial mayonnaise that will start to break.
