Psychologists in Scotland examined sexual relations without a condom could be useful for one’s mental health than wearing protective equipment. But the study was sparked controversy health experts.

Is sex without a condom is more healthy?

Professor Stuart Brody, a psychologist from the West of Scotland University who led the study claimed that the intimate relationship that is not protected by the condom can increase the mental health of men and women.

Conversely, couples who have intercourse frequently use condoms even have mental health lower because of symptoms associated with stress and depression.

Although not yet know the exact cause, but Brody thought it was related to the level of sexual satisfaction better when not wearing a condom. This will trigger the brain’s dopamine releasing hormones and hormone carriers other pleasure more so that someone will feel more calm, comfortable, happy and far from stress or other mental illness.

However, this study invites comments italics sexual health experts because it is considered yag could trigger unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.

Argument Professor Brody is, the human body is naturally programmed to obtain pleasure when not restricted. In this case the sex is not limited by the condom.

“That’s because there are advantages to evolve greater during unprotected sex, such as the ability to breed. And it can enhance the ability of sexual satisfaction that greater happiness even bigger,” Brody said as quoted by Geniusbeauty, Saturday (26 / 12/2009).

Brody’s conclusion after conducting a survey of 99 women and men in Portugal. Participants were asked to fill out questionnaires about their sexual satisfaction while wearing a condom and without using a condom.

Using scale calculations psychology from Canada, Brody found that participants who used condoms more stress than participants who did not use condoms.

“Despite the stress, but those who have sex without a condom can cope with stress better and more mentally healthy,” he said.

Responding to this research, Tony Kerridge of Marie Stopes International, – an organization that cares about reproductive health -, objected because it deems the study could lead to free sexual behavior and sexually transmitted infections.

“Probably more mentally healthy because it will be more satisfied if you have sex without a condom. But what about his physical health? Especially for those who have sexually transmitted diseases. This study applies only to those who are married and are free from infectious diseases only. Do not attempt try to have sex without a condom with a reason to be healthier mentally, “said Tom.
